Godly Ways To Save Your Christian Marriage
It may seem like a contradictory statement when you talk about “saving” your “Christian marriage”.
But even the most devout Christian is still just a human at heart, and so very often that means that we make mistakes, including mistakes that can threaten a marriage.
We all have free will, and must make a choice between what is right and what is wrong; when the wrong choice is made, the marriage may be put at risk.

But have faith. Through God, all things are possible. And there is always hope.
If you find that your Christian marriage needs to be saved, here are a few suggestions that may help you repair your relationship.
Assess the situation
Are you trying desperately to save your Christian marriage? The first step is to take an honest look at the problems you both face.
Is it something that can be easily remedied, such as a failure to communicate with each other, or are you facing more sobering problems?
While a lack of communication can be cured with only a little work on the part of the husband and wife, more harmful issues such as adultery, deception or abuse will require a great deal more effort.
Are you unified?
More subtle influences that can attack a marriage can seep in from outside.
Always remember God’s word to us. In Genesis 2:18, 21-24, God tells us, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” While family and friends may mean well with their words of advice, many times they can end up making the situation even worse.
If you find that the comments being made by outsiders serve only to belittle your spouse, then you should politely decline to listen, for such advice is not from God.
God’s Words to Live By
Ephesians 5:33 has excellent insight about saving any Christian marriage, “However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband”. Within this passage you can see how the bible encourages all men to love their wives and all wives to respect their husbands.
God understands why we function as we do because he can perceive even our most deep-rooted yearnings.
Women wish nothing more than to be loved, and men crave respect.
Please do not think that means a man should respect his wife or that a woman shouldn’t be loving towards her husband. That’s not what God is telling us.
It does provide a good starting point for examining your relationship and could go a long way towards saving your Christian marriage.

Demonstrating Respect
One way to show your husband you respect him is to quietly defer to his decisions.
Although it may be difficult to do, this means allowing him to lead your family even if you may disagree with his decision.
Should the situation show that you were right and the decision creates another challenge, do not tear your husband down over it.
Continue to support him through this time, and this will show him how deeply you respect him.
Demonstrating Love
Men sometimes make the mistakes of thinking they can displaying their love by simply saying those three little words, but this is not nearly effective enough.
After all, the Bible advises that a husband should love his wife as Christ loved the Church, and Christ surrendered his own life for the Church!
You should set aside things that are important to you to make more time for her.
This may mean forgoing a night out with the boys in order to do something kind for her.
Most importantly
Continue educating yourself on how you can save your Christian marriage.
The tips here are just the start, there is so much more to learn.
God’s church and bible are full of advice that can help you to reinforce your marriage, making both of you happier and giving you peace.
To conclude, include God in your daily lives by praying and laying your challenges in his hands.
You may find that there are some hurtful things you want to say to your partner, but fight the temptation!
If you ask, he will give you the wisdom and guidance needed to make your marriage stronger and more Godly.
